Senior Android Engineer, Multiple roles

Our engineering organization consists of many talented Android and iOS app developers distributed across the EU and US. For day-to-day work, our engineers are organized into smaller cross-functional feature squads or system-level teams. These teams have a great deal of autonomy and are responsible for the development and architecture of their features and systems. They take full ownership of their code and handle everything from concepting, design, and implementation to release, maintenance, and bug fixes.

We are looking for experienced Senior Android Engineers to join our app development organization. We have several roles available across various teams, from developing new member-facing features to building the foundational systems that ensure seamless connectivity and data synchronization between the Oura Ring and the app. Whether you are passionate about crafting beautiful user interfaces or architecting robust, scalable low-level systems, we have a place for you.

This role is on-site or remote within Finland, with a preference for candidates who can regularly visit our offices in Helsinki or Oulu.

• →Architect, design, build and maintain features to the Oura Android app using Kotlin, Compose, Room, Coroutines and Flow.
• →Work in a cross functional squad together with a passionate group of engineers, designers, data scientists, our product manager, health science experts and other stakeholders.
• →Refactor existing features to improve code quality, performance, and maintainability.
• →Ensure high quality through code reviews, automatic testing, and engineering best practices.
• →Use Kotlin flows and coroutines for efficient asynchronous programming and handling complex state flows in the UI.

• A minimum of 8 years of professional development experience shipping Android apps.
• Strong experience with Kotlin and modern Android app architectures.
• Taking strong ownership of the Android team’s work from technical planning to ensuring we ship working and high quality features.

• Drives and delivers on complex and often ambiguous initiatives with minimal guidance
