TV Operator

Position Purpose: This is a shift-based, multi-functional role primarily focusing on operating all the TV Station equipment. The secondary role will be to support the TTV Engineer, as and when required. Accountabilities/Responsibilities To play out programmes and commercials as per schedule to gain revenue for the company Liaise with other MCRs and Suppliers in the world to bring in LIVE feeds To communicate with suppliers regarding content that does not meet TTV Standards, advising them of the issue Perform ingest, QA, and manage the Archive. Perform MCR switching duties Perform Playout duties Prepare content for play out as required Perform basic studio camera operation, audio mixing, vision mixing and editing as required Perform basic LIVE stream operations Assist the TTV Engineer as required Train and become fully competent on all TV systems Communicate with departments Undertake duties as assigned by the TVM Verbal and written communication with all stakeholders Undertake the training of TV Trainees Requirements Risk/compliance/behaviours: Compliance to Solomon Telekom Values, Policies and Procedures Alignment and adherence with governance policies, processes and standards and with external regulatory requirements. Identify risk and security issues within processes and determine remediation plans. Competency (Skills, knowledge & experience) Knowledgeable of TV station systems, hardware, and software Have the ability to demonstrate a good technical, understanding, problem solving Has the ability to plan, organise, and implement solutions relating to TV Operations. Good understanding of TV Station and transmitter technology and IP Networks Ability to perform basic engineering work under the supervision of an Engineer Mandatory/Required Qualification: Graduated with a Diploma or Degree in Broadcasting, Media Studies, or Engineering from an accredited and recognized institution.
