Penn National Insurance is now collecting applications for our 2026 Intern Program which is aimed at providing an opportunity for a student in a related degree program to work within company operations first-hand with the goal of career development. The Intern will apply skills related to the concepts, principles, and methodologies of their associated major. This internship will exposure the student to projects and assignments where they can apply knowledge and higher order thinking skills (critical thinking, analysis, synthesis, evaluation, complex problem solving) to real world situations.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →The intern will have a detailed work plan provided by the division outlining the project, assignments and overview of the planned timeframe of the internship.

Experience
- Prior work experience not necessary
Technical/Professional Knowledge
- SQL and scripting experience preferred
- Good math aptitude
- Good research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good customer service skills
- Good PC skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite and MS Access
- Must be a self-starter with an ability to learn
Requirements
~1 min read- This position is primarily a sedentary position that requires occasional standing and walking throughout the office environment.
- Must be able to see and effectively use a computer monitor.
- Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard and applicable printers and other general office equipment.
- Must be able to access and enter information accurately using automated systems.
- Must be able to hear and communicate via the telephone and/or monitoring devices to both internal and external clients.
- Must be able to present information to individuals and groups.
- Must be able to interpret and apply concepts that may or may not be based upon established guidelines.
