Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting and administration for a portfolio of private credit and alternative investment funds.
  • Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual NAV calculations, partner capital allocations, and investor reporting deliverables.
  • Manage fund-level accounting activities, including investment transactions, interest income, fee calculations, expense allocations, and accruals.
  • Review capital calls, distributions, management fee calculations, carried interest allocations, and waterfall calculations, as applicable.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and applicable reporting standards.
  • Serve as the primary accounting contact for assigned clients, providing technical guidance and ensuring a high level of client service.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, custodians, and other third-party service providers during audit, tax, and reporting cycles.
  • Review portfolio valuations and work closely with investment teams and valuation specialists to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Monitor fund cash activity, reconciliations, and balance sheet accounts, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Review complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to maintain the integrity of fund financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with fund governing documents, investor agreements, accounting policies, and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, enhance reporting, and implement best practices across fund accounting workflows.
  • Support the onboarding of new funds, investment structures, and strategic client initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop Senior Fund Accountants and Fund Accountants by providing technical guidance, reviewing work product, and supporting professional development.
  • Partner cross-functionally with investor services, treasury, compliance, operations, and technology teams to ensure seamless execution of fund administration activities.
  • Assist with special projects, regulatory reporting, system implementations, and process automation initiatives as the business evolves.

 

 

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of progressive work experience in accounting or audit, with a preference for private credit, fund administration, or public accounting experience.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to complete tasks promptly.
  • Willingness to take on additional ad-hoc tasks and projects.
  • Ability to build and maintain advanced spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with a team approach.
  • Unquestionable integrity and ethics.
  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA a plus.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
