Solutions Architect

We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join our Data Engineering team. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms and pipelines on the modern cloud data stack for our enterprise clients. You will collaborate closely with clients, data engineers, architects, and practice leadership to translate complex business requirements into robust technical architectures and ensure delivery excellence.

• Own and drive end-to-end solution design and implementation of cloud-native data platforms, pipelines, and integrations for enterprise clients across LATAM.
• Translate business and data requirements into technical architectures leveraging platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, Databricks, and GCP, ensuring performance, security, scalability, and reliability.
• Ensure engagements are delivered on time, within scope, and with measurable business value for clients through robust data modeling, ETL/ELT, and automated workflows.
• Design and validate proof-of-concepts, reference architectures, and implementation roadmaps that de-risk delivery and accelerate production adoption.

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners including data engineering, analytics, ML, product, and PMO to deliver successful client engagements.
• Lead and mentor data engineers and developers, providing guidance on best practices in cloud data engineering, coding standards, and solution design.
• Provide technical and strategic leadership in client workshops, discovery sessions, design reviews, and status presentations, clearly articulating options, trade-offs, and recommendations.
• Ensure high quality in deliverables through code reviews, documentation, testing strategies, and adherence to governance and security standards.
• Partner with practice and account leaders to identify opportunities to expand engagements, introduce new capabilities, and standardize reusable solution patterns.

• Contribute to internal initiatives such as IP development, accelerators, templates, and playbooks for modern data stack implementations.
• Create and maintain solution documentation including POCs, roadmaps, sequence diagrams, logical system views, and class hierarchies that can be reused across engagements.
• Support knowledge sharing through mentoring, brown bags, and content creation focused on cloud data platforms and data engineering best practices.
• Represent phData with professionalism in all interactions, communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with production workloads on platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP, Hadoop, and/or Databricks.
• Experience with cloud and distributed storage technologies such as S3, ADLS, HDFS, GCS, Kudu, Elasticsearch/Solr, Cassandra, or other NoSQL systems.
• Familiarity with data integration technologies such as Spark, Kafka, streaming/event platforms, StreamSets, Matillion, Fivetran, NiFi, AWS Data Migration Services, Azure Data Factory, Informatica IICS, Google Dataproc, or similar tools.
• Experience integrating and modeling data from multiple sources, including queues, relational databases, files, search, and APIs.
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle including design, documentation, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Experience with automated data transformation and curation using tools such as dbt, Spark, Spark Streaming, and automated data pipelines.
• Experience with workflow management and orchestration tools such as Airflow, AWS Managed Airflow, Luigi, or NiFi.
• Prior experience working in global or remote teams and partnering across US, LATAM, and/or India.
• Contributions to open source, technical communities, speaking, writing, or building internal accelerators are a plus.

• 8+ years of experience as a hands-on Solutions Architect and/or Data Engineer designing and implementing data solutions on modern cloud data platforms.
• Experience leading technical teams and/or mentoring other engineers in delivery contexts.

• Ability to design and deliver end-to-end technical solutions into production, ensuring performance, security, scalability, and robust data integration.
• Strong programming expertise in one or more of Java, Python, and Scala.
• Hands-on experience with core cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, Databricks, and/or GCP.
• Advanced SQL skills, including writing, debugging, and optimizing complex queries.
• Experience creating and delivering detailed technical presentations for client and internal stakeholders.
• Experience producing detailed solution documentation such as POCs, roadmaps, sequence diagrams, class hierarchies, and logical system views.

• Experience delivering projects for external or internal clients in a professional services or consulting environment.
• Ability to break down complex problems into structured, actionable steps and drive them through to completion.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with distributed and cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record of taking ownership, managing multiple priorities, and delivering high-quality work with minimal supervision.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

This role is based in LATAM and operates primarily in [time zone / overlap expectations].
