We are seeking an ambitious and results-oriented Business Development Officer to join our team in Abuja. In this role, you will spearhead the acquisition of new corporate, government, diplomatic, NGO, and high-net-worth clients while developing tailored travel management solutions that deliver value to customers and drive sustainable revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, engage, and acquire new business opportunities across corporate organizations, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), embassies, NGOs, and other institutional clients.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand the company's presence within key market segments.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and sales pitches that position the company as the preferred travel management partner.
  • Prepare and submit competitive proposals, tenders, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and commercial bids.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and close new business opportunities that contribute to revenue growth.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and consistently convert prospects into long-term clients.
  • Develop trusted relationships with corporate travel managers, procurement teams, and key decision-makers.
  • Conduct regular business review meetings to evaluate service performance and identify opportunities for account growth.
  • Recommend additional travel solutions and value-added services that enhance the client experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, hotels, destination management companies, and tour operators.
  • Negotiate corporate rates, service level agreements (SLAs), and incentive programs that strengthen the company's value proposition.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design customized travel solutions, corporate retreats, incentive trips, and seasonal travel packages.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, pricing strategies, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and business development reports to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years' proven experience in business development, corporate sales, or account management.
  • Experience within the travel, tourism, hospitality, aviation, or other service-oriented B2B industries is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success in acquiring corporate clients and managing strategic business relationships.

  • Confident communicator and persuasive negotiator.
  • Has strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Understands corporate and public sector procurement processes, particularly within Abuja.
  • Is commercially minded with excellent business acumen.
  • Can prepare compelling proposals and manage competitive tender processes.
  • Is highly organised, self-motivated, and results-driven.
  • Can identify opportunities, solve client challenges, and convert leads into long-term partnerships.
  • Thrives in a target-driven environment and consistently delivers measurable results.
