Responsibilities
~1 min readThe role requires expertise in blood transfusion science, including blood group serology, antibody screening, and cross-matching to ensure compatibility for transfusions. The scientist will be responsible for interpreting transfusion test results, maintaining accurate laboratory records, and ensuring compliance with UKAS accreditation standards. Additionally, they will assist in quality control procedures, support training and competency assessments, and contribute to the day-to-day running of the transfusion laboratory.
Requirements
~1 min read- HCPC registration (essential).
- Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
- Knowledge in Winpath and Blood 360 preferable.
- Extensive experience in blood transfusion and serology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
