Consultant Cardiologist - West Midlands

• Full registration and licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC)
• Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Cardiology (or within 6 months of interview)
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications and Fellowship of a Royal College (e.g., FRCP)

A standard job plan includes:

• 1 day/week dedicated to the new diagnostic centre
• 1 day/week for sub-specialty activity (e.g., stress echo, myoview, or other interests)
• 1 in 7 weeks as “Cardiologist of the Week” – focused on inpatient care, ED support, and weekend ward rounds (Saturday and Sunday mornings)
• Outpatient clinics: Typically 11 follow-ups (telephone) or 3 new + 6 follow-ups (face-to-face)
• On-call rota: 1 in 7 weekends (Friday–Sunday) and fixed weekday on-call (not prospectively covered)

• A team of six consultant cardiologists, supported by specialist nurses and technicians
• Services include general cardiology, CTCA, echocardiography, and myoview imaging
• Strong collaboration with radiology and regional centres for advanced imaging and interventions
