We are seeking an experienced Steel Logistics & Loadout Supervisor to coordinate daily shipping operations within a structural steel manufacturing environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring fabricated materials are prepared, verified, loaded, and dispatched safely and efficiently while providing leadership and guidance to shipping personnel.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in steel handling, equipment operation, team leadership, and shipment coordination in a fast-paced production setting.
- Direct and coordinate daily shipping and loadout activities for fabricated steel products.
- Ensure outgoing materials are properly staged, loaded, secured, and prepared for transportation.
- Verify shipment accuracy, including piece counts, markings, and supporting documentation.
- Review shipping records and load information to ensure compliance with delivery requirements.
- Maintain organized and accurate shipping documentation and load records.
- Provide day-to-day direction and support to shipping personnel.
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members on procedures, equipment operation, and safety expectations.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and operational efficiency within the department.
- Support staffing and workflow needs to meet production and delivery schedules.
- Work closely with production, logistics, and operations teams to ensure materials are available and shipped according to customer deadlines.
- Communicate shipment status and address scheduling challenges proactively.
- Coordinate priorities to support changing production and transportation requirements.
- Minimum of five years of experience in steel shipping, material handling, or structural steel operations.
- At least two years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
- Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, telehandlers, and vertical mast lifts.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
