We are seeking a Product Development Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and enhancement of electrical power distribution and protection products. This position plays a key role in bringing new products and product improvements from concept through prototype and production while collaborating with multiple departments across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical design, 3D modeling, prototype development, and manufacturing support. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative engineering projects while working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
- Develop mechanical designs and engineering documentation for new and existing power distribution and protection products.
- Create and maintain detailed CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
- Support the design and development of products including switchboards, power distribution equipment, and related electrical enclosures.
- Participate in engineering reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve product performance, manufacturability, and quality.
- Implement design revisions and improvements based on review outcomes and testing results.
- Design, release, and support the fabrication of prototype components and assemblies.
- Coordinate prototype evaluation activities and identify opportunities for product enhancements.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts resulting from prototype testing and validation.
- Support testing initiatives and assist with fixture design when required.
- Manage smaller-scale engineering projects independently from concept through completion.
- Coordinate engineering activities to ensure project milestones, timelines, and objectives are achieved.
- Maintain project documentation and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, service, and other departments to ensure designs support business and customer requirements.
- Assist with product customization initiatives and engineering change processes.
- Support product lifecycle management activities, including updates, optimization efforts, and continuous improvement projects.
- Contribute to design-for-manufacturing initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
