A growing engineering and manufacturing environment is seeking an experienced Switchboard Engineering Manager to lead the development and execution of low-voltage power distribution solutions supporting critical infrastructure and data center applications.

 

This leadership role combines technical oversight, cross-functional collaboration, and team management responsibilities to ensure engineering deliverables are accurate, manufacturable, scalable, and aligned with customer and operational requirements.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in switchboard or power distribution system design along with proven success leading engineering teams in a fast-paced project environment.

  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team, including electrical and mechanical engineering personnel
  • Establish expectations related to quality, accountability, technical accuracy, and project execution
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, design packages, bills of materials, and supporting technical documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering workflows, design processes, and team efficiency
  • Support professional development and technical growth within the engineering group
  • Oversee the design and configuration of low-voltage switchboard and power distribution systems
  • Support applications involving UL 891 and UL 1558 standards
  • Ensure engineering solutions align with customer specifications, one-line diagrams, and operational requirements
  • Guide development of breaker configurations, bus systems, metering packages, protection schemes, and control integration
  • Promote standardized and scalable engineering design practices across projects
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs support efficient production and assembly processes
  • Partner with estimating and sales teams to support technical proposals, BOM development, and quoting activities
  • Interface directly with customers during design reviews, technical discussions, and issue resolution efforts
  • Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams regarding component selection and vendor strategy
  • Support commercial execution by ensuring technical proposals are complete, accurate, and manufacturable
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with UL, NEC, and applicable data center or infrastructure standards
  • Support factory testing, witness testing, and system validation activities
  • Maintain engineering records and compliance documentation related to certifications and design verification
  • Promote quality assurance standards across engineering and production activities
  • Manage engineering schedules and deliverables within deadline-driven project environments
  • Identify technical or execution risks early and implement mitigation strategies
  • Support large-scale infrastructure and mission-critical power distribution projects
  • Contribute to broader operational and business objectives as needed
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams within electrical manufacturing or power systems environments
  • Strong background in low-voltage switchboard, switchgear, or power distribution system design
  • Familiarity with UL 891 and/or UL 1558 standards
  • Ability to review and guide complex electrical system designs and engineering documentation
  • Experience supporting technical proposals, BOM development, and quotation activities
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, manufacturing, sales, and customer teams
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced technical environment
