Technical Sales Representative – Bakery Specialties

A leading food manufacturer is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to oversee and grow their Bakery Specialities portfolio. The successful candidate will operate as both a field technical consultant and a commercial partner, providing hands-on expertise to ensure customers achieve optimal results with specialised ingredients. This role is pivotal in driving volume and value growth through a blend of technical artistry and strategic account management. The position requires a high degree of professional discipline and the flexibility to support partners within a 24/7 industry cycle. Key Responsibilities Deliver daily hands-on baking demonstrations within retail environments to showcase product quality and application. Identify and execute strategic opportunities to increase sales volume and market share for speciality product lines. Provide expert technical support by troubleshooting production challenges and resolving customer queries with practical solutions. Develop and maintain high-trust relationships with key stakeholders through a customer-centric service model. Track competitor activities and industry trends to provide actionable market intelligence to the management team. Facilitate impactful training sessions for internal teams and external baking partners. Serve as a brand ambassador at industry tradeshows and corporate events. Requirements A professional qualification in baking or significant experience as a Master Baker/Confectioner is advantageous Microsoft Excel - Advanced (Intermediate to Advanced for reporting and data analysis) Proven sales experience, preferably within the FMCG or food ingredients sector. Logical and systematic approach to problem-solving, maintaining composure under pressure. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical processes into commercial benefits. Self-motivated, disciplined, and professionally presented with excellent time-management skills. Valid Code 8 driver’s license. Availability to be on-call to meet the demands of the baking industry.
