A prominent pan-African leadership development organisation is seeking a detail-oriented Fundraising and Database Administrator to oversee and optimise their Salesforce CRM. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the successful candidate will lead the management of donor data, ensuring high levels of data integrity and providing the analytics necessary for informed fundraising decisions. This is a 3 year fixed term contract with possible renewal. The candidate will be required to work full-time from the office, with standard working hours of 10:00 to 19:00 (SAST) to ensure sufficient overlap with the US time zone for effective collaboration and communication. This role is central to the effectiveness of the Development team, balancing technical database administration with donor stewardship and engagement activities. The ideal candidate will be a database professional who is passionate about using data to drive social impact and is comfortable coordinating student-donor interactions within a mission-driven environment. Key Responsibilities CRM Administration: Oversee the day-to-day administration of Salesforce for the Development team, ensuring all fundraising data is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant. Reporting & Analytics: Build, maintain, and optimise advanced Salesforce reports, dashboards, and pipelines to track fundraising progress and donor engagement. Data-Driven Insights: Provide timely analytics and data insights to support the leadership team in making effective fundraising and strategic decisions. Donor Stewardship: Support the preparation of donor-facing materials, including thank-you letters, student profiles, and stewardship reports, ensuring alignment with organisational tone and brand. Engagement Coordination: Facilitate donor-student engagement activities, including virtual meetings, campus visits, and events, while managing student ambassadors and ensuring meticulous follow-up documentation. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field advantageous 1–2 years of demonstrated experience working with Salesforce or a comparable CRM system. Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of drafting professional donor correspondence. Proven ability to manage large datasets accurately and consistently. Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience supporting fundraising, non-profit operations, alumni relations, or relationship management teams. Advanced understanding of Salesforce best practices, limitations, and pipeline tracking. Strong working knowledge of MS Excel for data manipulation and reporting. Experience coordinating events, programmes, or high-level engagement activities.
