Senior Bookkeeper

This pivotal role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of the financial heart of a well-established manufacturing entity. As a critical support to the financial leadership, the successful candidate will ensure the integrity of the general ledger while driving the accuracy of monthly reporting cycles in a high-output production environment. This is an in-office role working hours Monday to Thursday 08h00 – 16h45 and Friday 08h00 – 15h30 Key Responsibilities Execute full-function bookkeeping duties, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately captured and reconciled up to the management accounts stage. Oversee the end-to-end debtors function, including new account configurations, complex query resolution, and rigorous review of age analysis to maintain healthy cash flow. Perform detailed local and foreign currency cashbook reconciliations, ensuring all multi-currency transactions are accounted for correctly. Maintain the fixed asset register by processing additions and disposals and conducting comprehensive quarterly reviews to ensure balance sheet accuracy. Prepare and update monthly management accounts, providing the leadership team with reliable data for strategic decision-making. Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring all journals, accruals, and reconciliations are finalised within strict manufacturing deadlines. Requirements Minimum matric essential A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance (e.g., National Diploma or BCom) is preferred 7–10 years of progressive experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role Advanced competency in Syspro is essential for this role. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (Advanced level) Deep understanding of debtors’ management, foreign currency reconciliations, and fixed asset maintenance.
