Junior IT Technician

Red Ember Recruitment is recruiting for a Junior IT Technician for our client in Johannesburg. Requirements Take responsibility for the smooth running of all staff desktops, phones , and other hardware for example laptops, teleconference facilities etc for all users to ensure efficiency and maximise productivity of internal staff for a 24-hour business. Installation/configuration of software including email, antivirus or any third-party applications requested by the customer Provide support for any IT related issue as direct by management Maintain/Upgrade/Troubleshoot all customer hardware including PC’s and peripherals, network devices or other devices requested by Manager Liaise with external suppliers/vendors for the repair of equipment/software under warranty or maintenance contract Take ownership of incidents and professionally manage them through to resolution Ensure all incidents, issues and changes are recorded by users Manage incidents, problems and Provide hands on support for other IT teams members Undertake other tasks as assigned by management Provide support for all IT related projects (out of hours working, occasional nights and weekends) Provide weekly reports to management for all issues at assigned branches Request quotes with proper information on hardware/software Manage small projects under the supervision and with the assistance of IT manager Escalate to relevant team/senior if beyond ability or responsibility Team player Excellent communication skills, written and oral Ability to deal professionally with users, customers and suppliers Ability to communicate technical information to none technical users Report writing Documentation writing Self-motivate, committed and enthusiastic IT professional, must be able to work on own initiative and without constant supervision. Proven experience of working in a high-pressured corporate environment Understanding of ITIL Qualifications CompTIA A+ - or equivalent knowledge/experience CompTIA N+ - or equivalent knowledge/experience MCSA – Office 365 MCSA – Server Administration MCSE – Office 365 Sophos XG Firewall Engineer Technology Skills Desktop support 1 and 2nd line support Performs IMAC (Install, Move, Add and Change) Microsoft Windows OS 1st and 2nd line support Microsoft Office support Understanding of Microsoft Exchange/Servers 1st and 2nd line application support for all installed applications Microsoft Outlook configuration, troubleshooting, housekeeping and administration Network troubleshooting, IP, DHCP, DNS 1st and 2nd line Cabling and patching Android, iPhone user support Printer troubleshooting and management Projector and audio-visual maintenance and support
