Supports Universal Orlando Resort Event Managers with comprehensive event planning and execution, while independently managing smaller scale events from concept through completion. Responsibilities include coordinating all operational and entertainment elements, arranging catering and ticketing needs, processing VIP tour requests, and managing air and ground transportation logistics. Oversee merchandise, credentials, and giveaways, and develops detailed itineraries aligned with event goals and objectives to ensure a seamless guest and stakeholder experience

Responsibilities

  • Supports a broad range of events including meetings, familiarization trips, corporate picnics, scavenger hunts, social market activations, internal Marketing and Sales functions, community relations events, and larger corporate and incentive programs.
  • Works closely with key internal partners such as Event Operations, Entertainment (talent and technical), Catering, Revenue Operations, Publicity, Trade Marketing, VIP & Guest Services, Parking & Transportation, Security, Health Services, Technical Services, Production, and various external vendors to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Throughout the internship, individuals may have the opportunity—under guided supervision—to independently plan and execute a small meeting or event from start to finish.
  • Additional responsibilities include attending internal planning meetings, producing and distributing event collateral (itineraries, laminates, ticket media), supporting on site logistics, tracking event budgets, and assisting with post event billing, evaluations, and recap documentation.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed to support Event Managers and overall event operations.

Requirements

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required. 
  • A transcript is required upon application.
  • A strong interest in or foundational experience with event management, meeting planning, or related fields.
  • Customer service oriented with the ability to proactively anticipate needs and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Demonstrates initiative, leadership qualities, and the flexibility to adapt to changing situations or priorities.
  • Capable of prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong decision making skills with the ability to make sound, timely judgments in fast paced environments.
  • Proven problem solving abilities and an outgoing, professional demeanor.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to clearly express ideas one on one or in small group settings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation.

  • Preferred majors include: Event Management, Hospitality Management, Theme Park Management, or similar.
  • This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university and must have a graduation date later than April 2027.
  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
  • All our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
