We are seeking a senior Performance QA Engineer to lead API performance testing for an integrated ecosystem involving Salesforce, MuleSoft, and Oracle. This role is critical to ensure reliable, scalable API performance across boundary applications and to surface business-impacting risks before they reach production.

The right candidate will design and execute a comprehensive performance testing strategy, translate complex test results into clear executive summaries, and drive remediation with engineering and leadership. This is an opportunity to own performance outcomes and improve cross-team visibility and decision making.

  • Design and implement API performance testing strategies (load, scalability, stress, endurance, volume).
  • Build and execute performance test plans that define users/transactions, duration, objectives, and success criteria.
  • Create and run tests using JMeter and/or Gatling to validate system behavior under load.
  • Analyze test results, identify bottlenecks, and recommend actionable remediation steps.
  • Collaborate with development, integration, and operations teams to reproduce issues and verify fixes.
  • Integrate performance testing into release cycles and provide guidance on performance gating.
  • Prepare concise, executive-ready summaries of findings, risks, and recommended next steps.
  • Leverage existing automation frameworks (Playwright, TypeScript, Cucumber) where applicable to augment testing coverage.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other QA and performance team members.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in performance testing with a focus on APIs.
  • Proven, practical experience using JMeter and/or Gatling (at least one required).
  • Direct experience testing APIs within ecosystems that include Salesforce, MuleSoft, and Oracle.
  • Demonstrated ability to design full performance strategies beyond basic load testing.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience converting test data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting technical results to non-technical and executive audiences.
  • Ability to take independent ownership, operate with ambiguity, and define test approaches proactively.
  • Experience collaborating across distributed, integrated application environments.
  • Experience leveraging Playwright and TypeScript to support automation efforts.
  • Familiarity with Cucumber for behavior-driven testing and documentation.
  • Prior experience summarizing technical work into concise executive reports.
