Role Objective: To lead and provide comprehensive technical leadership and engineering support for the Salam Air’s engine and APU fleet, including LEAP-1A and CFM56 engines. The role ensures continued airworthiness, operational reliability, cost-effective maintenance, and regulatory compliance of all powerplant assets throughout their lifecycle. This includes in-service support, shop visits, reliability improvement programs, lease management, and technical governance of engine and APU systems. Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide cost-effective engineering and technical support for the operation and maintenance of the engine and APU fleet, ensuring that technical issues are resolved in a timely manner to minimize operational disruption and maximize aircraft availability. • Support MCC by providing real-time troubleshooting assistance for engine and APU-related defects and by ensuring that engineering decisions support safe and continued flight operations. • Provide technical input and assistance during line and base maintenance activities, including C-checks and other heavy maintenance inputs when required. • Investigate in-service engine and APU events, delays, and repetitive technical issues in order to identify root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions that improve reliability and reduce operational impact. • Monitor engine and APU health through EHM systems, including analysis of CNRs and FMX trend data, ensuring that all alerts and deviations are properly assessed and acted upon. • Participate actively in aircraft and powerplant reliability programs in collaboration with service providers, ensuring that technical analysis is translated into improved maintenance practices and enhanced operational procedures. • Monitor and analyze engine and APU oil consumption trends on a continuous basis to identify abnormal patterns, support troubleshooting activities, and optimize maintenance planning decisions. • Manage engine and APU shop visit activities, including preparation of induction packages, definition of maintenance work scopes, establishment of escalation criteria, and coordination with MRO providers to ensure successful execution of maintenance inputs. • Review shop visit findings, release documentation, and technical reports to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with approved maintenance requirements. • Prepare and issue detailed post–shop visit reports that summarize maintenance activities performed, findings identified, compliance status, and recommended follow-up actions for engineering and operational stakeholders. • Assess SBs, ADs, and OEM engineering instructions to ensure full compliance with continuing airworthiness requirements in accordance with applicable regulatory frameworks such as Part-M or equivalent standards. • Ensure that all regulatory and quality audit findings related to engines and APUs are addressed in a timely and effective manner to maintain full compliance and operational integrity. • Review AMP variation requests as delegated by the Manager Technical Services, providing detailed technical evaluation and recommendations to ensure continued airworthiness and OEM compliance. • Manage engine and APU modification standards and specifications, ensuring that all configuration changes and technical upgrades are properly evaluated, approved, and implemented in coordination with OEMs and relevant engineering authorities. • Oversee engine and APU removal procedures in accordance with approved engineering practices, ensuring that documentation, preservation requirements, inventory control, and storage conditions are properly executed prior to transfer or shipment. • Manage long-term storage and preservation of engines and APUs in accordance with OEM requirements and regulatory standards, ensuring continued asset integrity and airworthiness readiness. • Coordinate engine and APU transportation and logistics activities with internal logistics teams and external MRO providers to ensure safe and efficient movement of assets. • Review leased engine and APU documentation upon receipt and ensure proper technical assessment and compliance with lease terms. • Manage end-of-lease return activities for engines and APUs in accordance with lessor requirements and contractual obligations. • Review engine and APU invoices, maintenance reserves, and financial reconciliations in coordination with Finance and Commercial departments to ensure accuracy and contractual compliance. • Monitor spare engine and APU availability against removal forecasts in order to optimize fleet support and maximize aircraft availability. • Liaise with OEMs to resolve in-service engine and APU issues, including those outside published documentation, ensuring timely technical clarification and implementation of approved corrective actions. • Coordinate with OEMs, approved design organizations, and service providers to support structural engineering assessments for nacelle components, including damage evaluation and repair scheme approval. • Issue Technical Notices in accordance with OEM guidance and internal engineering standards to ensure consistent technical communication across stakeholders. • Review engine and APU parts documentation provided by the Technical Materials department to ensure full compliance with applicable technical standards and specifications prior to acceptance. • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and traceability of all engine and APU technical records, maintenance documentation, and shop visit reports. • Maintain and continuously improve internal engineering processes and procedures related to engine and APU management. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing engine reliability, reducing maintenance costs, and improving operational efficiency across the fleet. • Contribute to the development and implementation of fleet-wide engineering best practices and technical standards. • Perform any additional tasks as assigned by superiors. Requirements • Graduate in Mechanical/Aeronautical/Electrical Engineering. • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the aviation industry, including at least 5 years in managerial role.
