We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant – Fixed Assets to join our team and play a key role in managing and optimizing the company’s fixed asset accounting processes across multiple regions (U.S., Mexico, and Europe). This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate asset capitalization, depreciation, and compliance with internal controls and accounting standards, while partnering closely with engineering, operations, and finance teams to support capital projects and business decisions.
- Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the records of fixed assets.
- Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system (SAP) for US, Mexican & Europe Assets
- Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts (CIP) and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed
- Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the SAP General Ledger.
- Prepare reconciliations of fixed asset and depreciation accounts on a monthly basis
- Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management.
- Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
- Keep Fixed Assets files updated to meet legal and internal requirements
- Develops other activities assigned by management to support business operations.
- Performs work assignment in a safe, efficient, and ethical manner.
- Provide support to the engineering teams of the various entities on open projects, as required.
Requirements
~1 min read- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong exposure to fixed assets and capital project accounting.
- Hands-on expertise with SAP Fixed Assets module, including asset lifecycle management, depreciation, and reconciliations.
- Advanced English proficiency (professional working level or higher) with the ability to communicate effectively with global stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP/IFRS) related to capitalization, depreciation, and asset management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel (data analysis, pivot tables, reconciliations).
- Experience working in fast-paced, global, or shared services environments with high transaction volumes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, finance) to support business objectives.
