Individual Placement - Visitor Services Participant

Position Summary 

Interacting with the public, providing them information regarding the forest, answering the telephone and providing the public with up to date conditions.

• This position is primarily in a front country setting where emergency services are accessible, but may be delayed by 1-2 hours. SCA Members regularly interact with members of the public. Access to public transportation at work site is limited or not possible. Cell phone reception maybe limited, spotty, or not available.

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

Answering the telephone, engaging with visitors at the district office, providing visitors with information about road, weather and recreation conditions.

 

Marginal Duties 

• Selling partner items by using a cash register and credit card machine and expected to clean the front desk area.

 

Required Qualifications 

• Organized
• Ability to communicate
• Work with a variety of people
• Learn fast and provide information to the public.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Cash handling experience and knowledge of winter activities

 

Hours 

• 40 per week

• None

 

Compensation  

• Living allowance $500/week

All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
