Quality Engineer

Cepeda Systems and Software Analysis is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Quality Engineer to join our expanding team in Houston, TX. Supporting NASA Johnson Space Center's Cargo Mission Operations as a Quality Engineer. NASA's Cargo Mission Contract provides cargo and payload integration to programs such as the International Space Station, Orion, Human Landing System, and Moon Base programs.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluates technical documents such as drawings and specifications for adequate quality requirements and in-process controls
• Performs flight equipment acceptance reviews
• Prepares test readiness review documentation and identifies hardware pre-test status
• Approves work authorization documents and establishes mandatory inspection points
• Evaluates discrepancy reports and concurs on Material Review Board decisions
• Evaluates engineering changes and waivers for quality assurance impacts
• Evaluates inspection and test methods, tools, instruments, and processes for effectiveness

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, or science

Required Experience:

• 0-5 years' experience in an engineering or quality/safety field

Preferred Experience:

• Familiarity with product lifecycle
• Ability to understand and interpret technical documentation for safety and quality assurance impacts
• Familiarity with industry safety practices

Required Skills/Knowledge:

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Flexibility and adaptability

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

• U.S. Citizenship is Required
