This role will manage the coordination and execution of facility maintenance activities across SimonMed locations. The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator oversees maintenance requests, ensures timely completion of repairs, supports equipment troubleshooting, and maintains safe and functional facilities. This role also collaborates with internal teams and external vendors to support preventative, reactive, and ongoing maintenance needs in alignment with departmental goals and operational requirements.

  • Oversee, prioritize, and respond to general maintenance requests and facility cleanliness needs across SimonMed locations (primarily Arizona, with potential out‑of‑state travel).
  • Complete general maintenance tasks as assigned through work orders or verbal instructions.
  • Hang equipment, move and set up furniture or equipment, and support facility layout changes.
  • Perform general upkeep tasks such as painting, light bulb replacement, and other routine maintenance practices.
  • Assist with exterior maintenance tasks during inclement weather, including shoveling, sanding, or clearing walkways.
  • Respond to emergency equipment issues and complete minor repairs.
  • Coordinate and supervise third‑party repair services, including vendors supporting plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry needs.
  • Conduct minor plumbing repairs (e.g., clogged sinks, leaks), minor clean‑up of spills, and basic carpentry tasks.
  • Regulate building thermostats per established guidelines and coordinate needs with HVAC vendors.
  • Perform minor HVAC maintenance such as changing belts, filters, or other basic components.
  • Respond to fire alarms and follow safety and emergency procedures.
  • Retrieve and deliver supplies, furniture, and equipment from off‑site storage locations.
  • Remove excess trash and support recycling efforts, including breaking down cardboard.
  • Utilize equipment, tools, and mechanical devices necessary for maintaining a safe and functional environment.
  • Demonstrate competency in job‑related skills and provide excellent customer service to all internal departments.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines while supporting ongoing operational needs.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of commercial building maintenance experience, including familiarity with construction materials, methods, and repair practices.

 

 

  • Valid Arizona driver’s license with a clean MVR.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Working knowledge of general building maintenance, repair methods, materials, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read, follow, and interpret written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong customer‑service and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs in plumbing, carpentry, mechanical systems, and HVAC.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to use maintenance tools, mechanical equipment, ladders, lifts, and related devices safely and effectively.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds, and push/pull equipment or furniture as required.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work in fast‑paced or stressful environments.
  • Reliable, self‑motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
