This isn't a traditional Product Manager role. We're looking for someone who combines strong product thinking with hands-on AI expertise and a commercial mindset.
You'll join a fast-moving, AI-first team where everyone is expected to think beyond their job title, take ownership, and focus on delivering measurable outcomes. Working closely with Engineering, Growth, Commercial teams, and end users, you'll shape AI strategy, prototype ideas, validate solutions, and drive product decisions from discovery through to delivery and continuous improvement.
Success in this role comes from moving quickly, testing ideas, leveraging AI effectively, and building products that create meaningful impact—not simply shipping features.
Own the end-to-end AI product strategy for Zero Gravity Tutor, including prompting architecture, model selection, retrieval (RAG) design, context management, and AI output quality across every subject and learning mode.
Build and continuously improve adaptive AI systems that personalise coaching based on how individual students think, learn, revise, and prepare.
Solve complex AI challenges, including expanding support from objective to subjective subjects, developing scalable evaluation frameworks, and maintaining product quality as the platform grows.
Design, implement, and continuously refine rigorous AI evaluation frameworks to measure model performance, output quality, hallucination rates, and real learning outcomes.
Prototype new AI features by writing code, building proof-of-concepts (POCs), running experiments, and validating ideas before committing engineering resources.
Own the product roadmap by defining priorities, sequencing initiatives, and ensuring the team focuses on the highest-impact opportunities for students and educators.
Establish clear success metrics for every product release, analyse performance, lead post-launch reviews, and foster a culture of rapid experimentation and continuous learning.
Act as the voice of students and teachers by conducting user research, synthesising feedback, and translating insights into meaningful product improvements.
Partner closely with Growth and Commercial teams to design product experiences and engagement loops that support sustainable user acquisition, retention, and business growth.
Shape the product experience for schools and educators, helping solve institutional challenges and creating solutions that support adoption at scale.
Work directly with partner schools and teachers to validate product direction, gather actionable insights, strengthen customer relationships, and influence the product roadmap.
Collaborate with the Commercial team to define how Zero Gravity Tutor is packaged, positioned, and communicated to institutional buyers.
Champion a culture of curiosity, experimentation, testing, and continuous improvement across the product organisation.
Work closely with Engineering to align priorities, remove blockers, accelerate delivery, and maintain a high execution pace.
Contribute to Zero Gravity's broader AI strategy by sharing learnings, best practices, and successful approaches across the wider organisation.
Proven experience building AI-powered products, with a strong understanding of prompting architecture, model behaviour, and designing intuitive AI experiences that go beyond simple chatbot implementations.
Hands-on technical ability, with the confidence to prototype ideas, run AI evaluations, debug model outputs using AI coding tools, and progressively contribute to a codebase built with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, and AWS. While you don't need to be a software engineer, you should be comfortable moving quickly without relying on engineering support for early-stage experimentation.
Deep knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), including context windows, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, fine-tuning trade-offs, and robust approaches to measuring model quality.
Strong product management experience with a proven ability to own products throughout the entire lifecycle—from discovery and definition through delivery, iteration, and continuous improvement—within B2C and/or B2B environments.
Data-driven decision-making skills, with experience using analytics platforms such as Metabase, Mixpanel, Google Analytics, or similar tools to define success metrics, measure outcomes, and inform product decisions from the outset.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align engineers, commercial teams, and executive leadership around a clear product vision while thriving in a fast-paced, low-process environment.
A passion for creating meaningful impact, with a strong focus on outcomes over outputs and a genuine desire to build products that positively change students' life opportunities.
Experience in EdTech, consumer subscription products, or B2B SaaS with an end-user product component.
Familiarity with the UK education sector, including exam boards, curriculum structures, and how schools evaluate and adopt software.
Experience scaling a product from early traction through growth, with an understanding of the challenges of the "messy middle."
Experience partnering closely with Growth teams, with a strong understanding of how product and growth work together to drive adoption and retention.
Experience working in a 20–50 person company, where cross-functional collaboration, adaptability, and ownership beyond your job title are part of everyday work.
