We are a growing U.S.-based personal injury law firm dedicated to advocating for injured clients and delivering exceptional legal representation. Our team handles a high volume of pre-litigation and litigation matters, requiring organized, detail-oriented professionals who can help drive cases forward while providing outstanding client service.

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Legal Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the importance of balancing legal support, client communication, case management, and litigation preparation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional who wants to play a meaningful role in helping injured clients navigate the legal process while supporting attorneys through every phase of a personal injury case.


As a Personal Injury Legal Assistant, you will support attorneys and litigation teams throughout the lifecycle of personal injury matters—from intake and discovery through settlement negotiations and trial preparation.

The ideal candidate has prior experience working in a U.S. personal injury practice, understands litigation workflows, and is comfortable managing multiple active cases simultaneously.

Success in this role requires exceptional organization, strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to proactively move cases forward with minimal supervision.


Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing personal injury cases for litigation and trial
  • Draft pleadings, motions, notices, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Prepare trial exhibits, witness files, trial binders, and supporting documentation
  • Organize and maintain complete case files throughout all stages of litigation
  • Assist attorneys with hearing, mediation, deposition, and trial preparation
  • Draft and prepare discovery requests and responses, including:
    • Interrogatories
    • Requests for Production
    • Requests for Admission
  • Organize incoming discovery materials and supporting evidence
  • Maintain discovery databases and document repositories
  • Track discovery deadlines and ensure timely responses
  • Request, obtain, organize, and review medical records and billing records
  • Summarize treatment histories and medical documentation
  • Maintain medical chronologies and damages summaries
  • Assist with gathering expert reports and supporting evidence
  • Coordinate record requests with healthcare providers and medical facilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout their case
  • Gather necessary documentation and information from clients
  • Provide case updates and explain next steps in the legal process
  • Schedule meetings, depositions, medical appointments, and consultations
  • Ensure a positive client experience through responsive and professional communication
  • Prepare and file legal documents with courts and administrative agencies
  • Ensure compliance with court rules, filing requirements, and deadlines
  • Maintain attorney calendars and litigation schedules
  • Track important dates, including:
    • Statutes of limitation
    • Court hearings
    • Discovery deadlines
    • Depositions
    • Mediations
    • Trial dates
  • Conduct legal and factual research related to personal injury matters
  • Research applicable statutes, regulations, and case law
  • Assist attorneys in developing litigation and settlement strategies
  • Compile findings and supporting documentation for attorney review
  • Assist with the preparation of settlement demand packages
  • Gather and organize supporting documentation for damages claims
  • Coordinate communications with insurance carriers and adjusters
  • Prepare settlement documentation and case closing materials
  • Support attorneys during settlement negotiations and resolution efforts
  • Maintain accurate case records within the firm's case management system
  • Manage document organization, scanning, and electronic filing
  • Monitor incoming correspondence and route information appropriately
  • Assist with general legal administrative duties as needed

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Litigation Assistant, or Paralegal supporting U.S. law firms
  • Experience working within personal injury law
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures and case workflows
  • Experience handling medical records and legal documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active cases
  • High attention to detail and deadline management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based legal systems

Nice to Have

  • Experience drafting discovery requests and responses
  • Familiarity with settlement demand preparation
  • Experience with court filing procedures
  • Knowledge of Filevine, SmartAdvocate, Clio, Litify, PINS, or similar legal software
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
