About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and experienced Bookkeeper to handle multiple clients of an independent accounting firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounting transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with monthly financial reporting across multiple entities and various industries including real estate, oil and gas, service businesses.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform daily accounting functions for various entities– reconcile bank accounts, track and record bank transfers
• Cash Management - track and record bank transfers and cash transactions
• Process accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing. Payables are processed twice a month.
• Process accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and recording receipts
• Maintain monthly/annual schedules for recording journal entries for contract services, taxes, utilities, insurance, debt service etc.
• Reconcile tenant security deposits
• Balance and tie out intercompany accounts
• Prepare and review monthly financial reports for various entities – balance sheet, profit & loss statement, trial balance, reconciliation, general ledger
• Prepare fixed asset roll forwards, liabilities, debt and other assets
• Monitor accounting emails and respond professionally to vendors and internal departments
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned
• Training of Staff
• Must be able to prepare and tie out Financial Statements and review for accuracy. Qualifications/Skills
• Proven 5+ years of experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role
• Proficiency in Sage 50, ProSystems or CaseWare and QuickBooks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excel, powerpoint
• Effective communicator and organized
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Deadline oriented
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Must take pride in their work and be able to self-review.
