Position Overview
The Accounts Payable Specialist responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting overall accounting operations. This role ensures timely and precise bookkeeping, assists in financial reporting, and helps maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions, including purchases, receipts, sales, and payments
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Process accounts payable
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with payroll processing and related documentation
- Gather data and inputs for financial reporting, tax, budgeting and other activities
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation
- Coordinate with internal teams, external auditors, and tax consultants on regular deliverables including weekly AP runs and purchase orders
- Identify discrepancies, resolve accounting issues, and recommend process improvements
Qualifications
- Proven 3-5 years of experience in a direct position
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Bill.com, Xero, NetSuite, or similar)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
