Senior-Level Graphic Designer (E-Commerce & Brand)
Location: LATAM preferred - but fluent in English
Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week) 9AM - 6PM EST.
Compensation Range: $2,200 – $3,000 (dependent on depth of experience).
Classification: International Independent Contractor (W-8BEN structure).
Hardware: Candidates must possess their own high-functioning, production-ready computer hardware and a stable, high-speed internet connection capable of executing heavy design software and cloud rendering.

We are (founded in 2020 by Tuft & Needle alumni) an elevated, fast-growing direct-to-consumer (D2C) outdoor furniture brand based in Phoenix, Arizona. We design high-end, premium furniture, but we don't speak like a traditional, luxury brand. We engage our customers with approachability, using clever language—idioms, common, and thoughtful language to reach customers on their level. Our brand voice is equally elevated and sophisticated as we are friendly and approachable. We’re an intimate team of six, we wear many hats, and are highly collaborative and design-led.
Role Summary
We are seeking an organized, high-agency, and self-directed Senior-Level Graphic Designer to join our team as a full-time international contractor. In this role, you will help bring our premium products to life through thoughtful packaging, clear instructional design, and beautiful marketing assets. You will work dynamically across print and digital mediums, turning complex product details into clean, on-brand work that customers genuinely enjoy. This role moves quickly, balancing ad hoc requests and tight timelines with larger brand initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Packaging & Production Design: Design packaging graphics, including complex die line art and SKU labels, with absolute care and meticulous attention to production details.
- Instructional Design: Create clear, customer-friendly furniture assembly instructions that translate complex 3D builds into simple, elegant, visual steps.
- Illustration & System Design: Produce flawless on-brand vector illustrations and iconography that naturally extends and enriches our existing design system.
- Digital & Marketing Assets: Build product launch assets, marketing collateral, ads, and social media support natively within Figma.
- Image Manipulation & Retouching: Handle light image editing, retouching, color correction, and manipulation as needed.
- AI Workflow Integration: Comfortably utilize and prompt emerging AI tools to manipulate images, iterate copy briefs, and optimize daily workflows.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the product and creative teams to keep major product launches perfectly on schedule and aligned with brand expectations.
️ Key Qualifications & Technical Skills
- Experience: 7–10 years of professional graphic design experience, with strong consumer product savvy (understanding how design lives on shelves, in hands, and across digital touchpoints).
- Software Mastery: Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Figma. Comfort laying out graphics and multi-page assets smoothly in Figma is required.
- Design Foundations: A masterful grasp of typography, typographic systems, grid structures, layout principles, and an appreciation for Swiss design.
- Vector Artistry: Strong command of complex vector art with a sharp, uncompromising eye for detail.
- Print Production Knowledge: Deep experience designing for both print and digital applications, backed by a real, technical understanding of physical print production.
- File Hygiene & Workflow: Excellent file hygiene and organizational habits—your working files must be as structured and tidy as your final designs. Technical comfort working within Dropbox and Slack for daily workflows is a must.
- Market & Tone Alignment: Explicit experience designing for the American market. Perfect command of written English is necessary to intuitively grasp and visualize the brand's witty, neighborly tone.
