Supervisor, Porter is a personnel management role responsible for the processes of ordering, receiving product, equipment, event support, managing inventory, tracking spends, and ensuring product and supplies are readily available in the necessary areas for the food services department. This role is also responsible for the scheduling and payroll management, as well as assignment of responsibilities and overall staff supervision of the porter team. The Porter Supervisor supports the mission by coordinating the logistics of the perishable and non-perishable resources utilized by our Culinary and Food & Beverage team. They also that all food safety and quality assurance best practices are being followed. Additionally, they perform all of the heavy lifting for event setup, product, and equipment transport, to support with the necessary day to day operations.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Conduct on-hand inventories and place orders for all concept areas of Culinary food services
- →Receive and inspect deliveries from vendors daily
- →Set and enforce standards for ordering and receiving operations
- →Maintain accurate inventory records for all departmental areas
- →Create awareness among kitchen teams regarding inaccuracies in product deliveries
- →Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure optimal product and vendor selection
- →Monitor and track departmental spending by vendor
- →Reconcile invoices and submit purchase orders for food and equipment vendors
- →Fulfill interdepartmental requests through the internal request system
- →Manage porters to provide site support, handle food deliveries, and maintain cleanliness of surrounding areas
- →Support events and operations by moving equipment, setting up, and resetting event spaces
- →Move equipment to and from the warehouse to meet site needs
- →Maintain cleanliness of operational areas and report maintenance issues for repair
- →Manage dishwashers to support kitchen operations and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and surrounding areas
- →Manage staff scheduling, payroll, and attendance for the team
- →Conduct annual staff performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development
- →Ensure all staff training and credentials remain up to date
- →Supervise deliveries of water, ice, and backstock supplies across campus
- →Support internal delivery of supplies for daily operations and events
- →Maintain a safe and clean work environment for the team
- →Monitor equipment and asset management, including preventative maintenance
- →Support daily services and perform other tasks as directed by management
Requirements
~2 min read- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2+ years of inventory experience
- 2+ years of restaurant or retail food service experience
- 1+ years of leadership experience
- Have or be able to obtain TX food handler card
- Have or be able to obtain manager level food safety certification
- Experience in a corporate environment
- Experience working in large team settings
- Customer service and or guest interaction experience
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Data entry experience
- Experience with inventory management software
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented and organized
- Must be willing to relocate to Starbase, TX and travel to remote Moon Corps sites on critical projects (up to 85% travel)
- Ability to provide 24/7 on-call support for emergencies and critical operations
