  1. Has the flexibility to work mornings, days, evenings, and weekends as scheduled.
  2. Assists with the monitoring of daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations.
  3. Models' relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Responds to all members and community inquiries and complaints promptly.
  4. Assists with recruiting and training staff, developing schedules, evaluating performance, motivating employees to achieve goals, and maintaining current and complete staff certification records.
  5. Coordinates the swim lesson program, scheduling classes, staffing, and training instructors. As well as, helps to drive and supervise programs to address community needs and advance YMCA objectives.
  6. Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Develops new activities and expands community programming in alignment with strategic and operational plans.
  7. Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and levels of participation in a program.
  8. Performs additional duties/responsibilities/projects as directed by the Aquatic Director including evening Director on Duty, fill in Lifeguard and Swim Instructor shifts as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent or at least two years' related experience; for example, as an aquatics coordinator or supervisor.
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Hold current certifications in Lifeguarding: CPR/AED and First Aid.
  • Completion of Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff within 30 days of hire.
  • Demonstrate the Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Physical Demands: Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities.

Salary: $20/hr for a 20hr work week, may work additional hours in different roles as well for Fall-Spring. If you take the Camp Supervisor Position as well, this will give you 35+ hours during the Summer.
