Facilities Supervisor

*Job Summary*

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the resort’s exterior and public areas to the highest Marriott standards. This role ensures all grounds, public spaces, and water features are clean, safe, and visually appealing for guests. The Facilities Supervisor will lead daily operations related to grounds upkeep, cleanliness, and preventative maintenance, while supporting the Engineering Department with technical and general tasks as required.

 

*Key Responsibilities*

*1. Public Areas & Grounds Maintenance*

- Supervise daily cleaning and upkeep of all public areas, lobbies, walkways, parking areas, and resort entrances

- Oversee clearing and sanitizing of all garbage bins and waste disposal points throughout the resort

- Painting and upkeep of public areas to the highest standards using designated colours to maintain the best appearance

- Coordinate pressure washing of walkways, patios, building exteriors, pool decks, and other high-traffic surfaces

- Maintain cleanliness of beach front area: remove debris, rake sand, empty bins, and ensure guest safety/comfort

- Ensure all grounds, landscaping beds, and perimeter areas are tidy and free of litter

 

*2. Water Features & Pool Monitoring*

- Monitor pools, ponds, fountains, and water features for cleanliness, water levels, debris, and safety hazards

- Report water quality or equipment issues to Engineering and coordinate with pool operations team

- Ensure proper signage and barricades are in place around wet areas

 

*3. Facilities & Engineering Support*

- Perform routine inspections of grounds and exterior facilities to identify maintenance or safety issues

- Assist Engineering technicians with minor repairs, event setups, and other assigned tasks

- Coordinate with Housekeeping, Landscaping, and Security teams to ensure seamless operations

 

*4. Inventory & Team Support*

- Assist with sourcing tools, PPE, and appropriate apparel for the team

- Monitor inventory to ensure materials and stock levels are up to par for uninterrupted operations

- Maintain and track equipment, pressure washers, cleaning supplies, and grounds tools. Submit requisitions as needed

 

*5. Safety, Compliance & Administration*

- Enforce safety protocols for staff and guests in all work areas

- Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, local health, and environmental regulations

- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure team is using PPE correctly

- *Ensure all reports, daily check sheets, and maintenance logs are completed accurately and submitted to Engineering Management in a timely manner*

- Document activities, issues, and completions. Report major problems to DOE or designate

 

*6. Other Duties*

- Respond to guest concerns regarding public areas in a professional and timely manner

- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering or his/her designate

 

*Qualifications & Experience*

- 3+ years supervisory experience in facilities, groundskeeping, or hospitality maintenance, preferably in a resort/hotel environment

- Experience managing inventory, sourcing supplies, and budget awareness

- Working knowledge of pressure washing equipment, pool/water feature maintenance, and basic groundskeeping tools

- Ability to lead, schedule, and motivate a small team

- Physically fit: able to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in tropical conditions, and stand/walk for extended periods

- Strong attention to detail, guest service orientation, and communication skills

- High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in facilities maintenance or pool operations is a plus

- Valid driver’s license preferred

- Primarily outdoor work with exposure to sun, heat, rain, and cleaning chemicals
