Now Brewing – senior manager, Executive Protection & Travel Safety #tobeapartner
From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.
This partner will play a critical leadership position within Global Security & Resilience, responsible for designing, operationalizing, and scaling a comprehensive program across executive protection, travel security, and event security. In this role you will provide end-to-end security strategy, planning, and support for executive leadership travel, employee events, and off-site engagements, while building the systems, partnerships, and operating models needed to scale globally.
The ideal candidate will be able to combine operational excellence with sound judgment and discretion and serve as a trusted partner to senior leadership and cross-functional teams. They will be able to anticipate risk, translate intelligence into action, and deliver security programs that enable business outcomes while maintaining a strong duty of care.
As a senior manager, Executive Protection & Travel Safety you will...
* Oversee planning and execution of executive protection (EP) operations, including domestic and international travel, public appearances, and high-risk engagements.
* Lead a blended team of internal and contracted executive protection personnel, ensuring consistent standards, operational readiness, and high-quality execution across all activities.
* Conduct advance work, threat assessments, and risk mitigation planning.
* Establish and maintain EP standards, protocols, and operating procedures aligned with industry best practices.
* Build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders, balancing security posture with a discreet, service-oriented approach.
* Support incident response, escalation management, and real-time decision-making during dynamic situations.
Travel Security & Operations
* Own and evolve the global travel security program, including policies, risk frameworks, and operating models supporting executive and employee travel.
* Deliver travel risk assessments, high-risk travel advisories, and clear, actionable traveler guidance.
* Oversee traveler tracking, communication, and accountability systems in partnership with GSOC and key vendors.
* Develop and deliver travel security training and awareness programs.
* Partner with the intelligence team to translate geopolitical and operational risk into business-relevant travel guidance.
Event Security & Safety
* Deliver end-to-end event security planning, including risk assessments, site reviews, credentialing, emergency planning, and vendor coordination.
* Partner cross-functionally with event teams, legal, communications, and external agencies to ensure aligned execution.
* Establish scalable frameworks, standards, and playbooks for consistent event security delivery across regions.
* Support crisis management planning, tabletop exercises, and onsite response for high-visibility events.
Program Leadership & Integration
* Build and mature an integrated operating model across executive protection, travel, and event security.
* Act as an ambassador for Global Security & Resilience, advising stakeholders, reviewing security requests, and delivering risk-based recommendations.
* Drive program scalability through data, technology, and process optimization.
* Lead cross-functional coordination with GSOC, Intelligence, HR, Legal, Travel, and external partners.
* Track and report on program performance, risks, and emerging trends to leadership
We’d love to hear from people with:
* 8–12+ years of experience in executive protection, travel security, event security, or related fields.
* Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives in dynamic, global environments.
* Strong knowledge of EP operations, risk assessment methodologies, and crisis response protocols.
* Experience building or scaling travel security and/or event security programs.
* Ability to translate intelligence into practical, business-aligned recommendations.
* Proven ability to operate effectively across cross-functional teams and external partners.
* High level of discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment under pressure
