We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant, Foundation in the Finance department at our Calgary base.
While you may not be flying the helicopter or providing patient care, as a member of STARS’ Finance team, you will play an important role in STARS’ life-saving mission. Be part of something bigger. Be part of our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Accounting Stewardship and Financial Records
- Manage Foundation Revenue and Contribution Accounting
- Prepare Financial Reporting, Reconciliations and Regulatory Filings
- Improve Processes and Controls
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related discipline.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- Minimum 7 years’ progressive experience, preferably within a not-for-profit or healthcare organization.
- Experience preparing external audit requirements and working directly with auditors.
- Strong understanding of deferred contributions and not-for-profit accounting principles.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements and strengthening financial controls.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Advanced understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting requirements, and internal controls.
