We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer IV to join our growing design team in our Hamilton, NJ. In this design role, you will represent Syska Hennessy Group and work in close contact and effectively interact with the Internal Design team as well as external clients and consultants. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team. Mission Critical, Science + Technology, Healthcare and Project Management experience a plus.

Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer IV, you will be responsible for creating basic designs under the direction of the Senior Engineer and/or Senior Designer. You will also develop specifications, system narratives, and system layouts for a variety of projects of different sizes.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Participates in various trade organizations and prepare presentations.
  • As appropriate, manages CAD/BIM and other technical staff that is assigned for particular project or task as directed by the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
  • Assists with employee reviews as requested.
  • Estimates construction costs and to evaluate feasibility of construction using ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude)
  • Writes engineering proposals under the direction of a senior engineer or senior designer for projects

Requirements

Successful candidates for the Electrical Engineer role should have the ability to use REVIT for system layout and spatial coordination of the production of detailed drawings. Someone who exhibits a basic understanding of the practical application of LEED principles to our building designs would be a good fit for this dynamic role.

Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an Accredited Institution
  • 7+ years of experience working in a consulting firm
  • E.I.T./FE required; PE preferred
  • LEED AP, highly preferred
  • History of working with projects such as Federal, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical
  • REVIT and the latest version of AutoCAD MEP experience
  • Proficient in design and calculation software
