Prepares and turns over the Endoscopy Room according to endoscopic procedure requirements.
- Inspects and utilizes equipment according to manufacturer’s recommendations and TFH Policy and Procedures.
- Maintains scopes and accessories according to manufacturer’s recommendations and TFH Policy and Procedures.
- Coordinates equipment replacement and repairs with Endoscopy lead nurse and Materials Management
- Transports and assists in patient positioning in accordance with instructions from medical personnel.
- Assists physicians and registered nurses in performing endoscopy procedures.
- Assists nursing in the endoscopy unit with admission, recovery, and discharge.
- Attends in-service training to validate or refresh basic endoscopic procedures.
- Collects specimens from physician, ensures proper specimen securement and transfer to lab.
- Maintains Endoscopy Supply levels and communicates needs to Materials Management
- Assists with patient care.
- Understands self-protection and operates machinery safely in the decontamination room.
- Responsible for deep cleaning of Endoscopy supply bins and specified carts as per a deep cleaning schedule.
- Assists in obtaining data and building reports to track quality metrics
- Assists in the training of other Endoscopy Techs and nurses
- Available to work standby.
- Seeks guidance and direction in the performance of responsibilities and duties
- Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
- Complies with System policies and procedures.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience
No educational requirement and 1-2 years relevant experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

Within 3 months of hire into job
- 1+ Prior Endoscopy Tech experience
- Ability to operate endoscopy equipment.
- Ability to operate computerized sterilization equipment following written guidelines.
