Syngenta is seeking an experienced Country Head – Kenya to lead its commercial operations within the Africa Middle East business unit. Based in Nairobi and reporting to the Business Area Head, East and Southern Africa, the role carries full responsibility for the profit and loss performance and administration of the Kenya business.
The Country Head will provide leadership across all financial and operational aspects of the organization, driving business strategy, profitable growth, and long-term market competitiveness. The role will also steward critical relationships with customers, partners, regulators, and industry stakeholders across the agricultural ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include:
Driving achievement of Sales, EBITDA, cashflow, and related commercial targets.
Leading integrated commercial decision-making across pricing, marketing, technical, supply chain, and regulatory functions.
Overseeing key account performance, commercial terms, demand forecasting, and inventory planning.
Leading country go-to-market and channel strategies to drive sustainable growth and profitability.
Driving annual budgeting and the five-year strategic planning process for Kenya.
Identifying market trends, competitive dynamics, risks, and growth opportunities, and translating them into action.
Ensuring strong compliance with HSE standards, ethics, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Representing Syngenta with legal authorities, regulators, market institutions, and industry associations.
Building high-performing teams and driving disciplined execution across the business.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, or a related discipline.
MBA or other relevant master’s degree is an added advantage.
Minimum of 8 years’ successful track record in a commercial leadership role within the agricultural and/or related industries.
Proven ability to lead and influence diverse teams and align them around common goals.
Strong project management capability with evidence of driving initiatives through to completion.
Ability to manage ambiguity, lead change, and operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
