About the Role Our client, a leading multinational organization, is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Head / Country Head to lead its operations in Ghana. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, managing strategic stakeholder relationships, overseeing financial and operational performance, and ensuring alignment with regional and global objectives. This role requires a highly strategic leader with strong commercial acumen, proven executive management experience, and the ability to operate autonomously while collaborating closely with regional leadership and international offices. The role reports directly to the Regional Head. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Business Growth Develop and implement business strategies to drive growth, profitability, and long-term sustainability in Ghana. Lead the overall business operations and ensure alignment with regional and corporate objectives. Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and investment prospects within the Ghanaian market. Drive investor engagement and convert opportunities into commercial partnerships within the industrial zone ecosystem. Financial & Operational Management Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management. Monitor business performance and provide strategic recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitability. Ensure compliance with financial controls, corporate governance standards, and regulatory requirements. Stakeholder & Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, investors, customers, and strategic partners. Serve as the key representative of the organization in Ghana, enhancing the company’s reputation and market presence. Coordinate effectively with regional leadership and the Dubai office on strategic and operational matters. Project & Infrastructure Oversight Support and coordinate projects related to industrial parks, infrastructure development, construction, land development, and related sectors. Ensure effective project execution, stakeholder coordination, and timely delivery of key initiatives. Risk Management & Compliance Identify business risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity and sustainable growth. Ensure adherence to local and regional trade laws, regulatory frameworks, and corporate governance standards. Requirements Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field from a reputable institution. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA will be an added advantage. Minimum of 10 years’ relevant working experience with a proven track record in executive leadership, preferably within a multinational company or large organization. Industry experience in real estate (land development), construction, project management, industrial parks, industrial zones, or related sectors is highly preferred. Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, financial planning, and P&L reporting. Strong strategic thinking and commercial decision-making abilities. Excellent leadership, communication, and executive stakeholder management skills. Strong relationship management skills, particularly with government agencies, investors, utility providers, and regulatory institutions. Must already have established working relationships with key government agencies and utilities in Ghana, including Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Ghana Water Company, Gas Company, GIPC, Ports and Customs authorities, Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), to enable immediate operational effectiveness. Strong project coordination and project management experience. Ability to analyze complex business challenges and develop practical, results-oriented solutions. Strong understanding of corporate governance, regulatory requirements, and local and regional trade laws. Demonstrated ability to operate independently while coordinating closely with regional leadership and the Dubai office.
