Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Law Firm Administrator/Controller to lead our financial operations and administrative functions. This pivotal role combines strategic oversight of accounting practices with hands-on management of daily financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering efficient firm operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for maintaining the integrity of legal financial management.
Duties
- Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing using aderant software.
- Manage cash flow, conduct balance sheet reconciliations, and perform account analysis to maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including budgeting forecasts, financial statements, and regulatory filings to support strategic decision-making.
- Lead internal controls development and implement best practices for double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and technical accounting procedures.
- Supervise finance team members, providing guidance on financial concepts such as debits & credits, forecasting, and financial management strategies.
- Managing of legal staff, including hiring/terminations and other HR issues.
- Office management including supply orders, office event coordination, communication with technology managed services and assisting with other firm policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in legal firm administration and corporate accounting with experience at a law firm strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Aderant is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and financial analysis with precision.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity.
- Exceptional communication skills to convey complex financial concepts clearly across departments and stakeholders.
