The BEST Group – a group of Bermudian companies providing services in the fleet, freight, logistics, shipping, trucking, and warehousing industries have an immediate vacancy for a Warehouse & Storage Assistant to join Joe Vieira Trucking Ltd. on a full-time basis. 

The Warehouse and Storage Assistant will support day‑to‑day operations, including unloading containers, reading labels, and placing goods into designated storage locations. The role also involves packing, loading, and unloading trucks and containers, as well as maintaining the warehouse and inventory in a safe, clean, and organized manner. In addition, the Warehouse and Storage Assistant will operate a forklift and other equipment as required.

Main Responsibilities Include:

1. Warehouse and Storage

• Keep warehouse clean, tidy, and organized daily; remove trash.
• Unload containers, organize goods, and provide delivery info to dispatch/supervisor.
• Pack, wrap, and label goods for storage or delivery; separate and mark orders by customer.
• Confirm storage orders are accurate before dispatch; maintain monthly storage listings.
• Palletize, wrap, and label goods, grouped by customer; follow storage map and maintain mezzanine organization.
• Ensure aisles allow safe movement of staff and equipment; maximize use of warehouse space.
• Complete required job records, obtain customer signatures/payments, and assist with assembly/disassembly when needed.
• Perform routine vehicle safety checks, basic maintenance, and cleaning as required.
  

2. Equipment and Machinery

• Manage equipment check‑in/out; complete pre/post inspection checklists.
• Report damages; complete weekly forklift inspection.
• Park forklifts and equipment indoors daily.
• Keep cleaning supplies stocked, secured, and usage monitored.
• Ensure truck tools/equipment are signed in/out daily.

3. Inventory

• Complete monthly inventory sheets accurately; resolve discrepancies with supervisor.
• Perform weekly fuel dipping and documentation.

4. Exports

• Assist supervisor with loading containers, documentation, and surveys.

5. Damages

• Report vehicle accidents or damages immediately; complete required documentation.
• Report and document customer goods damages with supporting evidence.

6. Health and Safety

• Operate vehicles/equipment safely; adhere to legislation and company policies.
• Maintain valid certifications and licenses.
• Ensure warehouse cleanliness, accessibility, and safety.

7. Customer Satisfaction

• Ensure customer products are stored safely and correctly.
• Provide packing supplies or materials as needed.
• Respond proactively with a positive, helpful attitude to meet customer and colleague needs.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) would be advantageous.
• The ideal candidate would hold a valid dock pass or be able to obtain a valid dock pass.
• Non-negotiables: Forklift Certification and Valid Bermuda Public Service Vehicle License i.e., light, intermediate and heavy trucks, crane trucks and forklifts.
  
• Physical requirements: the ideal candidate must be able to handle a variety of physical activities from sitting to standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, and lifting from 10 to 120 pounds repeatedly. Work is primarily performed in an outdoor environment, and the ideal candidate will be exposed to changing weather conditions (temperature & humidity) while performing responsibilities.
