The Staff Pad has partnered with a leading healthcare organization in Las Vegas, NM to identify an experienced and compassionate Emergency Room Charge Nurse (RN) who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while leading high-performing clinical teams. As an ER Charge Nurse, you will play a critical leadership role in a fast-paced emergency department, serving as both a clinical expert and team leader. You will oversee daily department operations, coordinate patient care activities, support nursing staff, and ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and patient satisfaction are achieved. Shift: Full-Time | Nights What You'll Do Clinical Leadership & Patient Care Coordinate and oversee patient care activities throughout the Emergency Department Assess, plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate nursing care for patients with a wide range of emergent and acute conditions Ensure effective integration of the nursing process, medical treatment plans, and organizational policies Act as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members Assist with complex patient care situations and provide clinical guidance during high-acuity events Charge Nurse Responsibilities Lead daily shift operations and support efficient department workflow Assign patient care responsibilities based on staff competencies, patient acuity, and departmental needs Monitor staffing levels and collaborate with leadership to optimize patient throughput and resource utilization Facilitate communication between physicians, nurses, ancillary departments, patients, and families Promote a positive, collaborative, and patient-centered culture. Participate in conflict resolution and provide real-time coaching and support to team members Assist with departmental quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance efforts Emergency Department Operations Prioritize patient care needs in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency setting Support triage processes and patient flow management Ensure compliance with emergency care standards, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety initiatives Respond effectively to emergencies, trauma activations, and critical incidents Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Professional Excellence Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement Support orientation, training, and development of new nursing staff Participate in performance improvement projects and evidence-based practice initiatives Serve as a role model for professionalism, clinical excellence, and compassionate care What We Are Looking For Qualifications Education & Experience Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Minimum of two (2) years of Registered Nurse experience required At least one (1) year of Emergency Department or related acute care experience preferred Previous leadership, charge nurse, or supervisory experience strongly preferred Licensure & Certifications Current New Mexico Registered Nurse (RN) License required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required within 90 days of employment Ideal Candidate We're seeking a confident and compassionate nursing leader who: Excels in high-pressure environments Demonstrates strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and team members Leads by example and inspires others to deliver exceptional care Is committed to patient safety, quality outcomes, and continuous professional growth What You Can Expect Benefits Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance 401k up to 5% Match Health Savings Accounts Flexible Spending Accounts Life Insurance and Disability Insurance EAP (Employee Assistance Program) Worldwide Travel Assistance Online Discount Marketplace Why Join This Team?
