We are looking for an Associate Network Platform Engineer to join our team and help support the online infrastructure behind our next hit title. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers to build, maintain, and operate backend services for large-scale online multiplayer games. You will assist in developing services and APIs used directly by the game, as well as tools and systems that support our online game infrastructure.
This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer who is excited to learn, grow, and contribute to live game systems.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Assist in building and maintaining distributed backend systems, both player-facing and internal
- →Support the deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of online services
- →Help integrate external APIs, including platform first parties and infrastructure providers
- →Participate in investigating performance, reliability, and cost-related issues
- →Contribute to documentation and operational best practices for networked systems
- →Collaborate closely with senior engineers, production, and other disciplines
- →Play the game and help identify real-world service and connectivity issues
Requirements
~1 min read- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Foundational experience with server-side or backend programming concepts
- Exposure to concurrent or asynchronous programming in a managed language
- We primarily use Kotlin, but JVM experience is not required—tell us about the backend languages and tools you’ve worked with
- Familiarity with databases or data storage technologies (relational or NoSQL)
- Basic understanding of API design and the tradeoffs between performance and persistence
- Experience or coursework involving automation, scripting, deployment, or monitoring tools
- Comfortable working at a Linux command line
- A willingness to learn, ask questions, and grow into larger ownership over time
- Interest in or exposure to game development or online multiplayer systems
- Familiarity with gaming platforms such as Xbox Live, Steamworks, or PlayStation Network
- Introductory experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
- Experience collaborating with or supporting a network or operations team
- Internships, personal projects, or academic work involving networking, backend systems, or distributed services
