Tutor Intelligence is building the technology and processes to let robots go where they’ve never gone before: the average American factory. We understand that general-purpose and generally-intelligent robots are going to be built in our lifetimes, and we’re combining human and artificial intelligence to lead the charge. As an AI software company who deploys its inventions directly into the facilities that need them, on state-of-the-art hardware, every line of code written at Tutor has a direct impact on the global, physical economy.

We believe something special happens when talented, motivated people work together with respect and low ego. At Tutor, every team member is empowered to have real impact and is trusted to take ownership of meaningful problems. We value technical excellence, intellectual honesty, collaboration, and thoughtful urgency.

About the Role

~1 min read

We're a robotics company, and our office reflects it — a mix of industrial workspace, robot demonstration areas, conference rooms, and a common space café, all under one roof. With a team of ~100 people, keeping this environment running smoothly is its own full-time job.

We're looking for a Director of Workplace Experience who thrives on making a space feel alive and well-run. That means keeping every area of our office — from the café to the demo floor — clean, organized, and functioning at its best. You'll manage the vendors who support it, own the systems that keep it humming, and make sure every employee and visitor has an experience that reflects the standard we hold ourselves to.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day feel of the space — maintaining common areas, keeping the kitchen stocked and organized, ensuring every corner of the office reflects the standard we hold ourselves to.
  • Manage daily package monitoring, mail pickup, and receiving — making sure deliveries are tracked, sorted, and routed to the right people.
  • Manage trash and recycling across a mixed-use space, including any special disposal needs for industrial areas.
  • Coordinate weekly lunch ordering for the organization.
  • Coordinate and manage vendors for outside work: security, electrical, and general contractors.
  • Navigate building requirements and maintenance work orders, serving as the main point of contact with building management.
  • Build and maintain systems and routines so the space stays functional, safe, and consistently excellent over time.
  • Own the guest and visitor experience — ensuring every person who comes through our doors is greeted warmly and handled with care.
  • Partner with the People team on onboarding — coordinating IT setup, access badges, desk assignments, and making sure day one feels organized and welcoming.
  • Manage office supply procurement and maintain visibility into operational spend; track budgets and flag variances proactively.
  • Own vendor relationships end-to-end: sourcing, contracts, invoicing, and ongoing accountability.
  • Handle daily employee requests — fielding, triaging, and resolving the steady stream of asks that keep an office running.
  • Serve as the connective tissue between the physical office, the ops function, and the people who rely on both.
  • A natural host — someone who derives genuine satisfaction from creating an environment where people feel well taken care of, whether that's a first-time visitor or a long-tenured employee.
  • Comfortable operating across the full spectrum — from ensuring the café is stocked and the space is immaculate, to managing vendor contracts.
  • Hands-on by nature; you do the work yourself before thinking about delegating it.
  • Background in facilities, office operations, workplace management, or hospitality operations — we think great candidates could come from any of these paths.
  • Strong organizational instincts — you build systems, track details, and follow through without being reminded.
  • Comfortable managing vendor relationships and contracts, and holding outside partners accountable.
  • Enough familiarity with contractors and building management to navigate them confidently.
  • Comfortable working alongside interesting, complex, and sometimes large equipment.
  • Self-directed and highly resourceful; you figure things out.
  • Believes our space is a reflection of who we are — and holds it to that standard.
