UNICEF Chile operates in a high-income country context with persistent and complex gaps affecting children and adolescents, requiring a diversified and sustainable resource mobilization strategy to support programme results, advocacy and innovation. Within the Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) Area, Individual Giving remains a critical income stream and a strategic platform to broaden public engagement with UNICEF's mandate. The Fund Raising Officer (Acquisition), at the NO-A level, reports to the Fund Raising Officer (Acquisition and New Business) at the NO-B level and contributes to the implementation of the office's donor acquisition strategy, with a focus on growing the pledge donor base, diversifying acquisition sources and improving the quality, efficiency and sustainability of new donor recruitment.

The incumbent supports the design, coordination, implementation, monitoring and optimization of annual pledge donor acquisition plans. The role contributes to the achievement of income, donor volume, donor quality and cost-efficiency targets through the coordinated implementation of acquisition campaigns across Face-to-Face, telemarketing, DRTV, Corporate Pathway to Pledge, digital lead conversion and other emerging acquisition opportunities.

The incumbent works closely with the Individual Giving, Digital, Retention, Communications, Operations and external vendor teams to ensure that acquisition activities are planned, executed, tracked and reported in a timely and compliant manner. The post provides analysis and recommendations to improve campaign performance, strengthen donor journeys, support testing and innovation, and contribute to a stronger and more diversified acquisition pipeline for UNICEF Chile.

  1. Support the development, implementation and monitoring of the annual donor acquisition workplan, including channel planning, budget monitoring, revenue projections and alignment with approved PFP priorities.
  2. Coordinate the implementation of acquisition campaigns across key channels, including Face-to-Face, telemarketing, DRTV, Corporate Pathway to Pledge, digital lead conversion and other approved prospecting initiatives.
  3. Monitor, analyze and report on acquisition performance indicators, including number of new pledge donors, average donation, cost per acquisition, donor quality, conversion rates, channel diversification and projected long-term value.
  4. Support the effective management of vendors, agencies and partners involved in acquisition campaigns, ensuring timely delivery, quality control, compliance with UNICEF procedures and appropriate follow-up on agreed deliverables.
  5. Contribute to testing, innovation and diversification of acquisition sources, working with relevant PFP and Communications colleagues to improve donor journeys, strengthen conversion and support sustainable income growth.

Within the delegated authority and under the given organizational set-up, the incumbent may be assigned primary, shared or contributory accountabilities for all or part of the following areas of major duties and key end-results.

  • Support the preparation of the annual acquisition workplan, including channel objectives, campaign calendars, testing priorities, expected donor volumes, projected income and expenditure estimates.
  • Contribute to the preparation and monitoring of acquisition budgets, in coordination with the supervisor and Operations, ensuring that expenses and revenue projections are regularly reviewed against approved plans.
  • Review market information, donor acquisition trends, audience insights and past campaign performance to inform planning assumptions and recommend practical adjustments to the acquisition approach.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of approved acquisition activities through Face-to-Face, telemarketing, DRTV, Corporate Pathway to Pledge, digital lead conversion, events and other relevant channels.
  • Support the design and implementation of acquisition tests through existing and new channels, with emphasis on pledge giving, donor quality, compliance, scalability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work closely with Digital, Communications, Retention, Donor Care and database/CRM colleagues to ensure that leads, donor data, campaign materials and donor journeys are properly aligned and followed up.
  • Monitor campaign implementation and regularly report progress against approved targets, including donor volume, income, average gift, conversion rates, cost per acquisition, fulfillment, early attrition and long-term value indicators.
  • Analyze campaign results and provide evidence-based recommendations to improve performance, adjust channel mix, refine segmentation and strengthen the efficiency of acquisition investments.
  • Ensure timely preparation of acquisition inputs for PFP planning, reporting, forecast updates and management discussions, maintaining accurate documentation of assumptions, results and follow-up actions.
  • Support the selection, briefing, coordination and performance follow-up of external service providers, including direct marketing, advertising, telemarketing, Face-to-Face, media, lead generation and related agencies.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure that campaign deliverables, scripts, materials, data flows, quality controls and reporting requirements are delivered on time and in line with UNICEF standards.
  • Identify operational issues, performance risks and compliance concerns in acquisition implementation and escalate them with proposed corrective actions when required.
  • Contribute to the identification and assessment of new acquisition opportunities, partnerships and testing initiatives that can diversify UNICEF Chile's acquisition portfolio and improve donor recruitment results.
  • Document lessons learned from campaigns and tests, supporting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the PFP team and with relevant office stakeholders.

Promote coordinated ways of working across acquisition and retention to support a coherent donor experience, improve donor quality and strengthen the sustainability of the pledge donor base.
