UNICEF Nepal Country Office (NCO) contributes to improving national, provincial, and local government capacities and its systems strengthening. One of the core commitments of UNICEF NCO is to strengthen the Supply Chain Systems Strengthening (SCSS), specifically, through capacity building of the logistics, warehousing system, and not limited to procurement management. This commitment aligned with the global strategic priorities for the Supply Function.
How can you make a difference?
Join as a team lead for the supply unit to provide technical and operational support and for managing all aspects of supply chains management of the Nepal country office. The supply chain operations include planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, in-country transport and distribution, as well as monitoring of supplies and services.
As there is growing needs to increase system strengthening, you will support collaboration with programmes, including the field offices in supporting system strengthening and advisory support to governments, national systems and partners capacity building on supply chain management, to meet programmatic needs and achieve results for children. You will manage and supervise the supply team and guide supply and logistics related needs for the field offices.

Minimum requirements:
- Education: A university degree (Bachelor`s degree or equivalent) is required in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Management, Economics, Contract/Commercial Law, International Development, Health, or a related social science field.
- Work Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience at the national level in one or more of the following fields is required: supply chain management, logistics, public-sector procurement, contracting, and systems-strengthening in setting up logistics systems.
- Skills: Strong knowledge and understanding of supply chain management, procurement, logistics, public-sector procurement, systems strengthening, and the management of co-financing arrangements. Strong analytical, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues, work strategically, manage change and resources effectively, supervise teams, and build effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders. Sound understanding of the financial, legal, ethical and risk-management aspects of supply chain operations is also required.
- Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Nepali is required.
Desirables:
- Health-related supply chain management experience is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated experience in logistics and procurement in a UN agency is an asset.
- Understanding of development and humanitarian work is desired.
- Prior work experience in Middle Income Countries is advantageous.
- Experience in managing co-financing in partnership framework is desired.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
