Going forward, UN Women plans to strengthen its initiatives, aiming at enhancing the capabilities of women home-based workers, bolstering their inclusion in the formal economy, and improving collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Overall, UN Women's efforts in Pakistan are multifaceted, aiming to bring about transformative change in the lives of women and marginalized groups. Through strategic planning, partnerships, and persistent efforts, the organization continues to foster a more inclusive and equal society.
Gender equality and women’s development hinges very strongly on an ecosystem that promotes women’s economic empowerment and their access to supporting resources, goods, and services. PCO aims that by 2027, more women and girls in Pakistan, particularly the most vulnerable and marginalized and those from lagging districts benefit from sustainable livelihood and decent work opportunities resulting from responsible, inclusive, sustainable, green, and equitable economic development, prioritizing the needs of most marginalized communities first, through the unequivocal commitment to eradicate all forms of discrimination and exclusion. The PCO will work directly with potential programme partners, mobilizing them, forming them into functional community groups, and linking them with a diverse range of resources. These will include access to financial services, markets, digital literacy, skill development and enterprise development.
The Women’s Economic Empowerment and Sustainable Livelihoods (WEE & SL) portfolio is committed to fostering gender equality through inclusive, sustainable, and equitable economic development, with a strong focus on empowering marginalized women and girls. Within this framework, the Programme Analyst plays a pivotal role in translating strategic goals into impactful action. Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, the AnalystOfficer contributes substantively to programme design, formulation, and evaluation, ensuring that initiatives are responsive to the needs of vulnerable communities. By closely monitoring implementation results, coordinating with partners, and enhancing systems and procedures, the Programme Officer supports the delivery of high-quality programmes that provide women with access to financial services, markets, digital literacy, skills, and enterprise development. This role is instrumental in ensuring that the portfolio’s vision is realized through effective collaboration with government counterparts, donors, civil society, and operational teams.
Reporting to Portfolio Manager, the Programme contributes to the effective management of UN Women WEE programmes in the CO by providing substantive inputs to programme design, formulation, implementation and evaluation. The Programme Analyst support the delivery of UN Women programmes by monitoring results achieved during implementation and ensuring appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements if necessary. The Programme Analyst works in close collaboration with the Portfolio Manager WEE and Operations team, UN Women, Government officials, multi and bi-lateral donors and civil society ensuring successful UN Women programme implementation under portfolio.
