About the Role

The Manager, International Partnerships provides strategic and operational leadership in developing and managing the University of Tasmania’s global education partnerships. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating and progressing high-quality partnership opportunities that enhance student mobility and learning abroad opportunities, support teaching and research collaboration, and align with the University’s internationalisation priorities

Leading the International Partnerships team, the position oversees partnerships across their full lifecycle - from market analysis and due diligence through to business case development, implementation, governance and ongoing review. This includes a diverse portfolio of partnership arrangements such as articulation pathways, joint and dual degrees, third-party delivery and learning abroad programs.

Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Manager ensures partnerships are effectively managed, compliant, and deliver sustainable, high-quality outcomes for students, staff and partners. The role also contributes to informed decision-making through effective oversight of partnership activities, systems and portfolio performance.

To be eligible for this position, you are required to hold Australian or New Zealand Citizenship, permanent residency or a valid visa that enables you to fulfil the requirements of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead consultation and collaboration to develop, manage and review national and international educational partnerships and related projects.
  • Drive market and partner analysis, including due diligence, risk assessment and development of business cases aligned with university strategy.
  • Lead, coach and develop the International Partnerships team, fostering a high-performing, collaborative and accountable culture.
  • Manage key stakeholder and partner relationships, providing expert advice on partnership development, policy, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee governance, compliance and quality assurance of partnerships, while managing projects, budgets, events and multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

­What we’re looking for:

  • Postgraduate qualification (or equivalent experience), with strong understanding of higher education standards, frameworks and partnership governance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing high-quality briefings, business cases and policy advice.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead, coach and build a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with demonstrated ability to build and influence complex relationships across internal, external and regulatory environments.
  • Highly developed project management, organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to lead complex initiatives and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.

  • Working with Vulnerable People registration (can be applied upon successful appointment)

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 8 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $152,033 comprising base salary within the range of $114,282 to $129,943 plus 17% superannuation.
