Urang manages Residential and Commercial blocks across London and continues to expand due to recommendations from satisfied clients and lessees. We also provide property management services for landlords who let their properties.

We are looking for a dedicated Service Charge Bookkeeper to join our finance team, based in South Africa. This is an excellent opportunity for career development, where you will support our finance team in London, reporting directly to the Head of Service Charge Accounts. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in the property industry and solid accounting knowledge, with a focus on bookkeeping to trial balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow established month-end procedures, including:
- Communicating with property managers to ensure correct cost allocations and handling financial queries.
- Performing utility supplier reconciliations.
- Conducting reserve fund reconciliations.
- Reconciling suspense accounts.
- Monitoring and corresponding with Accounts Payable/Receivable regarding supplier invoices and incoming cheques.
- Managing unpaid supplier invoices held on the system due to insufficient funds.
- Process supplier invoices and prepare trial balances.
- Liaise with internal accountants during the auditing process.
- Communicate with clients as needed.
- Reconcile bank accounts.
- Prepare and send out Service Charge and Ground Demands.
What We’re Looking For
- A relevant diploma in accounting.
- Experience in bookkeeping to trial balance.
- Strong communication and technical skills.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced MS Excel and Word skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines with high attention to detail.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: R15,000 to R17,000 per month, depending on experience.
- Contract: Permanent, remote role.
- Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 SAST.
