About this role:
The USGA's Championship Administration team is responsible for the in-house preparation and administration of USGA championships, including entries, exemptions, qualifying, customer service and equipment. The Assistant Manager, Championship Administration will have primary oversight of the following:
Fulfillment of departmental customer service objectives
Successful administration of the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship
AGA qualifying site submission and qualifying reimbursements
Administration of the Executive Committee Ambassador Program
Golden ticket ordering and execution for those advancing to USGA Championships
Verification of Amateur Status for USGA qualifying and Championship applicants
What you’ll do:
Management of the department's customer service objectives:
Responsible for ensuring all phone calls and email inquiries to Championship Administration team are answered in a timely and professional manner, ideally within one business day, by the customer service team.
Oversight of Zendesk platform and tracking departmental metrics for continuous team improvement. Provide support in the execution of the Performance Policy for USGA
Qualifying, specifically in contributing to player inquiries and submissions.
In-house administration of the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship:
Annual qualifying site and exemption review, application and exemption preparation, monitoring applications during the entry window, entry opening and closing, correspondence to players, officials, and Allied Golf Associations, allocation of places, alternate process, and Championship pairings.
Manage the process for Qualifying Site Submission & AGA Reimbursement:
Distribute annual qualifying site asks to AGA's
Verify information and update the qualifying site database as qualifying sites are submitted
Distribute confirmation notices to AGA's and host clubs
Prepare reports and coordinate reimbursements to AGA's for conducting qualifying
Administer the Executive Committee Ambassador Program:
Provide support for the USGA Executive Committee when traveling to Championships and representing the USGA.
Organize opportunities for the Executive Committee to engage with key stakeholders on-site at Championships by providing organized schedules, sharing key preparational resources, and coordinating pre-Championship calls to ensure alignment and clarity.
Oversight of golden ticket production and execution, for those players advancing to USGA Championships. Responsible for distribution of golden tickets to AGA's and exempt players and electronic distribution of golden tickets and alternate notifications for all championships.
Verification of Amateur, Professional, or Amateur for Reinstatement status for all championship entry applications.
Other duties as assigned, including serving in an on-site capacity at up to two championships per season and supporting the Championship Administration team with special projects as needed.
Where you'll be:
This role will be based at our Liberty Corner, NJ campus on a hybrid schedule. Employees are required to spend 3 days per week working in the office, between Monday - Thursday. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are mandatory in-office community days. Employees can choose between Monday or Thursday as their third in-office day.
What you bring:
Bachelor's degree
2+ years of relevant experience
Tournament administration experience and knowledge is strongly preferred
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
Ability to manage and delegate, ensure task completion and provide atmosphere to learn and grow
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to lead and communicate well with others
Experience in preparing presentations using Powerpoint
Experience organizing and conducting meetings
Very detail oriented
Level: Assistant Manager
Job Location: Liberty Corner, NJ
Salary Range: $55,000 - $63,000
The annual base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $63,000. This range represents what we reasonably expect to pay as starting base compensation for this role. Compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, and relevant certifications. In addition to your base compensation, the USGA provides competitive benefit offerings for all full-time employees.
