About this role:
The Coordinator, U.S. Women’s Open Operations is responsible for the advance planning, budgeting, vendor coordination, construction oversight, and operational execution of the U.S. Women’s Open Championship. This role serves as a key liaison between the USGA, host site, vendors, consultants, municipalities, and championship staff to ensure the successful delivery of all operational and infrastructure requirements.
What you'll do:
Manage relationships with host site leadership and coordinate site-impact timelines, space requirements, construction activities, and post-event property restoration.
Lead the procurement and RFP process for select championship services in partnership with USGA Procurement, including vendor selection, contract execution, and scope management.
Assist with management of the U.S. Women’s Open operations budget, partnering with Finance to oversee invoices, payments, billbacks, and final financial reconciliation.
Direct the execution of operational scopes, including trailers, storage containers, fence, restrooms, furniture, rental equipment, and golf carts.
Lead cross-functional communication and collaboration across the U.S. Women’s Open Operations team, host site, vendors, and championship stakeholders.
Support site inspections, surveying, and championship site planning in collaboration with senior USGA leadership and site planning consultants.
Develop and manage construction schedules, monitor vendor progress, coordinate onsite activities, and oversee completion of championship facilities and final punch-list items.
Manage the recruitment, onboarding, training, and daily supervision of U.S. Women’s Open interns throughout construction, championship operations, and post-event teardown.
Assist with event permitting with local municipalities, consultants, and village personnel, ensuring required documentation, inspections, and approvals are completed.
Facilitate recurring stakeholder meetings, including vendor planning sessions and weekly onsite construction meetings, to maintain alignment on schedules, deliverables, and operational priorities.
Where you'll be:
This role will be based at Inverness Club in Toledo, OH, to support planning for the 2027 U.S. Women's Open. The Coordinator will be expected to relocate to support future U.S. Women's Open sites. This position is eligible to receive a housing stipend.
What you bring:
1-3+ years of relevant sports operations experience - ideally managing large-scale golf events, sporting events, construction projects, or complex event operations.
Strong expertise in event logistics, site operations, vendor management, and construction coordination.
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets while maintaining accountability for vendor scopes and financial commitments.
Strong leadership, project management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability and willingness to work onsite for extended periods and relocate as required.

Job Location: Toledo, OH
Salary Range: $50,000 - $58,000
The annual base salary range for this position is $50,000 - $58,000. This range represents what we reasonably expect to pay as starting base compensation for this role. Compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, and relevant certifications. In addition to your base compensation, the USGA provides competitive benefit offerings for all full-time employees.
