Vast is looking for a Construction Project Engineer, rep,orting to the Construction Project Manager, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This position will enable production teams to operate equipment and machinery required to complete the company’s mission.
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Assist in all aspects of project implementation as needed
- →Create and take part in meetings and presentations with executive leadership
- →Obtain multiple bids from competing contractors by creating scopes of work
- →Perform job walk-downs with vendors, engineers, supervisors, and managers
- →Work with the purchasing department to ensure vendors are approved, vetted and insured
- →Review plans and other technical documents
- →Answer questions regarding the scope and/or timing of the project
- →Monitor costs and project progress
- →Maintain control of all project documentation
- →Create, manage and track RFI’s from the field to the architect/engineer of record
Requirements

- Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Bachelor's of Science Degree in any engineering discipline
- Experience with facilities within an aerospace industry
- Familiar with space planning procedures and operations
- Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to easily navigate through different computer software programs
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to make independent judgments with limited information
- Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees, vendors, and customers
- Logical and strategic approach to solving problems
- Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction
