Business Analytics Sr. Associate, Strategic Finance & Business Operations

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the Business Intelligence effort at a high growth pre-IPO startup, as part of Verkada’s growing Strategic Finance & Business Operations team. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy and data execution: building scalable data architecture in support of mission-critical management reporting, defining and institutionalizing operating metrics across the business, and partnering with leaders across the company to enable data-driven decisions.

• →Build trusted company metrics & reporting. Standardize metrics definitions and build reporting infrastructure that help align different functions on a single “source of truth”
• →Help develop a scalable data and BI stack. Work closely with our CIO and other Data teams across the company to develop a robust, reliable Data Warehouse environment
• →Support public company readiness. Be the accountable owner within the CFO org of SOX-compliant external metrics as a public company
• →Deliver business-critical insights. Partner closely with cross-functional leaders as well as other members of the Strategic Finance & Business Operations team to provide analytical support and strategic insights to guide key decisions
• →Foster a data-driven culture. Train and empower business users to self-serve analytical insights to improve data fluency and decision velocity at Verkada

• 4-8+ years of progressive high growth experience. You’re coming to us from a Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Engineering, or other Data-related function at a fast growing startup.
• Strong technical fluency and business intuition. You’re an expert in SQL and other data-related programming languages, understand data best practices, and enjoy working with modern BI tools, but also pair this with sound business judgment to translate strategy into metrics.
• A self-starter mindset and comfort with ambiguity. You’ve shown an ability to drive work forward in a fast-paced startup environment without needing hands-on direction and pivot quickly when circumstances change, but also create structure out of that ambiguity in the process.
• Excellent communication and partnership skills. You can effectively engage with a diverse array of stakeholders ranging from the CFO to engineers, and build the credibility, relationships, and buy-in necessary to drive change.
• A team player with a low “ego to smarts ratio”. You bring a positive, learn-it-all (not know-it-all) energy to your teams, and are generally known for being great to work with. Life is short… we want to enjoy the time we spend with our colleagues!
• Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.
